Methodist Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist 1 to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and support our mission of improving and saving lives with compassion and high-quality care. As part of a leading healthcare organization serving communities across Texas, you will provide evidence-based physical therapy services to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions in an acute care and/or outpatient setting. In this role, you will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, and deliver therapeutic interventions to help patients improve mobility, restore function, reduce pain, and optimize independence and quality of life. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care. Routine responsibilities include conducting standardized assessments, setting functional goals, implementing therapeutic exercise and manual therapy techniques, providing gait and balance training, recommending and training in the use of assistive devices, and educating patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies. The Physical Therapist 1 will document all care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to regulatory, accreditation, and departmental standards. You will actively participate in discharge planning by offering recommendations for ongoing therapy needs, equipment, and community resources. You will demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, follow established clinical pathways and protocols, and seek guidance from senior therapists as appropriate.
