Your Mission

As the Pharmacist (Cannabis) - Connecticut, you're the clinical anchor for Shangri-La's medical program-protecting patient trust while keeping every consultation, record, and workflow aligned with Connecticut requirements.

Position Overview
The Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all medical cannabis patient consultation services, pharmacist-required compliance functions, and dispensary technician training across Shangri-La's Connecticut retail locations.

This role serves as the clinical expert for the organization, ensuring all medical cannabis transactions, patient interactions, and pharmacist-required documentation comply with Connecticut regulations and company standards.

The Pharmacist will conduct patient consultations, review and verify medical cannabis transactions completed by Dispensary Technicians, support compliance initiatives, and lead the development and certification of store teams participating in the Connecticut medical cannabis program.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Consultations & Clinical Oversight
• Conduct medical cannabis consultations in accordance with Connecticut regulations.
• Provide patient education regarding product categories, administration methods, dosing considerations, and responsible cannabis use.
• Serve as a trusted clinical resource for patients and retail staff.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance during all patient interactions.
• Support patient retention through exceptional consultation experiences and education.

Medical Transaction Review & Verification
• Review and verify medical cannabis transactions completed by Dispensary Technicians.
• Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant prior to final approval.
• Monitor transaction workflows to ensure consistency across all Connecticut locations.
• Identify and correct documentation deficiencies when necessary.
• Maintain records in accordance with Connecticut medical cannabis regulations and company standards.

Dispensary Technician Training & Certification
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver Dispensary Technician training programs.
• Train employees on Connecticut medical cannabis regulations, patient interactions, documentation requirements, and compliance expectations.
• Support employees seeking Dispensary Technician certification.
• Evaluate competency and readiness of Dispensary Technicians.
• Maintain training records and certification documentation as required.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
• Maintain compliance with all Connecticut pharmacy and medical cannabis regulations.
• Ensure all pharmacist-required documentation is completed accurately and maintained appropriately.
• Assist with regulatory audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
• Monitor changes in regulations and provide guidance to leadership and store teams.
• Partner with Compliance and Operations teams to ensure consistent execution of medical program requirements.

Clinical Program Development
• Support the continued growth and implementation of Shangri-La's hybrid medical cannabis model.
• Assist in developing standardized consultation practices and patient education resources.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance patient experience and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with leadership to ensure medical services remain scalable across multiple locations.

Qualifications

Required
• Active, unrestricted Connecticut Pharmacist License.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacist experience in a regulated healthcare or pharmacy environment.
• Strong understanding of compliance-driven documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to travel between Connecticut retail locations as needed.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred
• Cannabis industry experience.
• Experience training or developing employees.
• Multi-location oversight experience.
• Experience supporting regulatory audits and inspections.
