Job Title: Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) will be responsible for the following:

• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment (Ex: conveyors)

• Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures

• Perform battery changes, and preventive maintenance on batteries

• Enter downtime data in daily log, complete PM sheets

• Managing work orders within a CMMS

• Electrical, knowledge of basics components

• Troubleshoot and identify problems with equipment

• Track and store the departments inventory, including spare parts

Additional Skills & QualificationsBasic Qualifications

MRTs MUST HAVE at least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive & preventative maintenance procedures.

• 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls

• 2+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading

• 2+ year knowledge with electrical and electronic principles

• 2+ year experience of following and demonstrating safety standards

Responsibilities

• Ensure production and support equipment are functioning properly.
• Perform preventative maintenance on motors, conveyor systems, filling equipment, and other machinery.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Conduct basic electrical duties, such as replacing motors and switches, with support from an industrial electrician or PLC programmer for complex situations.
• Perform package changeovers on lines as required.
• Support the team in all aspects of operation.
• Train team members on mechanical processes.
• Focus on continuous improvement and maintain a safe, clean work environment in accordance with ISO Good Manufacturing Practices standards.

Essential Skills

• Mechanically inclined with experience in maintenance technician roles.
• Proficient in electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read schematics and diagrams.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance, including conveyor and assembly line maintenance.
• Knowledge of high-speed manufacturing environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma or GED, or 2-4 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficient knowledge in operating continuous motion packaging, filling, and palletizing equipment.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions in various forms.
• Knowledge of mechanical processes such as hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA.

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
