GIS Intern Houston, TX Full Time Description: For this position, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to assist with spatial data research, analysis, and geodatabase management. This position is ideal for an undergraduate student looking to apply their classroom knowledge in a professional setting during a 10-12 week summer internship. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Assist in the collection, organization, and maintenance of spatial data Responsible for performing basic spatial analysis using Esri GIS software Support the development of geodatabases and web maps Responsible for conducting quality assurance and data validation tasks Collaborate with team members on ongoing GIS projects All other duties and tasks that the direct supervisor or manager assigns. Qualifications & Skills The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of those required to complete the essential duties listed above. Education & Experience Current enrollment in an undergraduate or associate program preferred. 6+ hours of GIS coursework preferred. Other Skills Basic understanding of spatial data types, coordinate systems, and cartographic principles.
