About the Role:
The Environmental Engineer will support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) READI contract by leading environmental assessments, permitting activities, and regulatory compliance efforts during emergency response, infrastructure recovery, and resiliency projects. This role provides technical expertise in evaluating environmental impacts, developing remediation and mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
The Environmental Engineer will support emergency stabilization and disaster recovery operations through environmental site investigations, compliance monitoring, permitting coordination, and sustainable infrastructure planning. The position requires collaboration with engineers, environmental scientists, regulatory agencies, and project managers to support the safe and environmentally responsible execution of recovery and infrastructure improvement projects.

The ideal candidate must possess strong knowledge of environmental engineering principles, regulatory compliance requirements, and environmental assessment methodologies to support emergency response and infrastructure recovery operations. Proficiency in environmental data analysis, technical reporting, and engineering software applications is required to support accurate evaluations and effective decision-making. The candidate should demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to address complex environmental challenges under dynamic project conditions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for preparing technical documentation, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and engaging with regulatory agencies and stakeholders. The ability to adapt to emergency response environments and support field operations safely and effectively is critical to successful performance under the USACE READI contract.
