About the Role:

The Auto Maintenance and Light Repair Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of vehicles through routine maintenance and minor repairs. This position involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing scheduled services such as oil changes and tire rotations, and addressing light repair tasks to keep vehicles operating efficiently. The technician will work closely with customers and service advisors to communicate vehicle conditions and recommend necessary services. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are paramount to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan. Ultimately, this role contributes to customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality automotive care in a timely and professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge of automotive systems and components.
• Experience with routine vehicle maintenance and light repair tasks.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a professional automotive repair shop.
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment and software.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair minor mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles for safety and operational issues, documenting findings and communicating with service advisors.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

The required skills enable the technician to perform essential maintenance and light repair tasks efficiently and safely, ensuring vehicles remain in optimal condition.
